Read Marcus's story
I grew up spending summers at a family cottage on Lake Muskoka, listening to my grandfather's stories about the Ojibwe canoe routes and the Gilded Age families who built the grand boathouses. After a decade as a park ranger and a graduate degree in heritage tourism, I founded Ontario Signature Experiences to share those stories with people who want more than a selfie — they want to feel the place.
The best moment on any tour is when someone stops walking and just listens.

About this experience
After the public doors close, the Royal Ontario Museum belongs to you. Ontario Signature Experiences partners with the ROM to offer exclusive after-hours access for groups of up to 12, led by a practising palaeontologist. You begin in the Rotunda, ascend through James Stewart Polshek's crystalline Michael Lee-Chin extension, and spend the centrepiece hour with Gordo — the Barosaurus skeleton whose neck alone spans 9 metres — in silence that no daytime visitor ever hears. The evening traces 3.5 billion years of life on Earth, ending with a complimentary glass of Ontario Riesling in the atrium. **What's included:** 2-hour private after-hours access, expert palaeontologist guide, welcome drink, souvenir specimen card. **Optional add-on:** Hands-on fossil specimen handling session.
